Judges of X-Factor, Robin Thicke Arrested, and Cannon Hospitalized

After the firing of Paula Abul and Nicole Scherzinger from X-Factor rumors have been swirling around of who may take over one of the judges’ spot from Mariah Carey to Beyonce’…..one name that may be a sure thing, Janet Jackson. According to The Hollywood Reporter Jackson had expressed interest in doing the show but are just in preliminary talks at this point. On an upcoming episode of Anderson Cooper’s daytime talk show airing today, Cooper asked Jackson if she’s currently apart of the X-Factor judging panel. Jackson sideswipes the question with, “ No, I am not. But that’s all I really think I should say.”

And in this case, Robin Thicke should’ve just said no….to drugs that is. The “Love After War” singer was arrested Friday for a minor drug charge after NYPD pulled him over and found a small joint in his SUV. Thicke was given a desk appearance ticket and then released.

Superman has nothing on Nick Cannon but even Mariah Carey’s husband knows how to slow down. The “America’s Got Talent” host has called it quits on his New York syndicated radio show after being hospitalized for kidney failure last month and being back in the hospital for blood clots in his lungs as well as some heart problem. The actor released a statement saying, “ Under doctor’s orders, I have been asked to cut back on some of my professional commitments to allow my body to get the rest it needs to keep up with the demands of my multitasking schedule.” Cannon will continue to host his weekend radio show “Cannon’s countdown” and host NBC’s America’s Got Talent.

A Florida judge has court ordered a man to take his wife on a date and buy her flowers. After getting into a fight with his wife for not acknowledging his wife’s birthday, Joseph Bray was told by a judge “He’s going to stop by somewhere, and he’s going to get some flowers..” “And then he’s going to get a card, go home and pick up his wife, get dressed and then go to Red Lobster and then after dinner, they are to go bowling.”

After two stunning nights of showing off her post baby bod for her husband Jay-Z’s charity concerts, Beyonce is scheduled to release to new projects this year one being a brand new album later on this year. Accordingtheybf.com, the new mom didn’t just rest and be merry while pregnant. The “Countdown” singer was in the studio working on new music inspired by the couple’s new daughter Blue Ivy Carter. Mrs. Knowles- Carter also has another project up her sleeve but has not been announced yet. In the meantime, she currently has a contest going on for the best remix of the dance hit “End of Time.” The winner will have the single released in the future.

BET Honors hosted by actress Gabrielle Union aired last night on BET with the message “What Does Extraordinary Look Like?” Honoring R&B great Stevie Wonder, The Tuskegee Airmen for their accomplishments in World War II, First Lady Michelle Obama saluted Maya Angelou with a beautiful speech right after a stunning rendition of her classic poem “ Still I Rise” performed by Willow Smith, Queen Latifah, and Jill Scott as the poet accepted her Literary Arts Award. Spike Lee was honored with the Media Arts as he has made a mark in the pop culture with his films like “Do The Right Thing.” And Mariah Carey was honored by LA Reid with the Entertainer Award for her 18 #1 hits & selling over 200 million albums in the span of her career.

Ex-wife of R&B singer “The Dream” and no not Nivea….Christina Millian has signed with Lil’ Wayne on Young Money/Cash Money records. The rapper announced it himself while at YMCMB’s pre-Grammy party at Paramount Studios in Hollywood this past weekend. Millian confirmed the new deal via Twitter with the statement:

Peanut Butter Burglar

A burgular was found naked & covered in peanut butter and chocolate on Tuesday after workers found him in a local supermarket in Kentucky. Andrew Toothman was arrested by state troopers after responding to a 911 call from the Food IGA Market in the city of Neon , Kentucky. In a court citation that was filed yesterday, Toothman was only in black boots and smeared in chocolate & peanut butter. And if this crime wasn’t bizarre enough, there was NyQuil found with the word Sorry spelled out in the popular cold remedy. Toothman is being charged with burglary, criminal mischief, and indecent exposure.

Vanguard Awards

Awards Season is in full effect and with Black History Month also being celebrated, the NAACP Image Awards nominees have been announced with Producer/Director George Lucas receiving the highest honor of the Vanguard Award when the ceremony airs on Feb 17th on NBC. Lucas is being honored for the film “Red Tails” that was released last month.

Madonna’s Superbowl

On the heels of Madonna’s super bowl halftime performance, the singer announced she’s going on a World Tour for the first in three years. The World Tour will start in Tel Aviv in May and traveling throughout Europe and South America. The North American part of her tour will begin in Late August starting in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

What’s on your bucket list? Well for one man, he wanted to be in a police chase. John Hughes from Butte, Montana told officers he wanted to instigate a police chase because “he wanted to try it.” The chase started in the early hours on Thursday after Hughes followed a patrol car for several blocks after which he pulled his SUV around and took off at 70mph. Police reports reveal that Hughes was traveling up to 100mph before the officers laid down a spike strip to flatten his tires. Hughes was fined $1000. When asked why did he do it? His response, “ I just always wanted to do that.”

In other news, on the heels of Chris Brown’s success this past year from his multiple mixtapes and his 4th album FAME. The singer-actor will be performing at Sunday’s grammy awards three years after admitting to assaulting ex-girlfriend Rihanna at a pre-grammy party in 2009. Sources revealed to the Associated Press that the announcement has not been made official. Brown is nominated for 3 grammys including Best R&B Album.

Roseanne For President?

Hollywood is coming to Washington! Or least trying….Actress-comedienne Roseanne Barr announced last week she’s running for President and she’s not joking. Barr has decided to run under the Green Party ticket as she’s a huge supporter of the party and looking to work with people who share in the same values as she does. Why is she running, according to huffingtonpost.com the actress feels that the Democrat & Republican parties are servants that are bought and paid for by the 1% who are not doing what’s in the best interest of the American people. The former sitcom star submitted her paperwork to the Green Party for her candidacy. The party’s presidential nominee will be selected in July during their convention in Baltimore.
